The majority of earth’s inhabitants believe in Angels. Yet so few of us can claim to have seen one. Why?

Perhaps it’s because in order to encounter one, we first have to learn what to look for and how to look!  

We live in a world where the natural and supernatural overlap. Angels are constantly on mission from God and constantly at work in this world.

From the Garden of Eden to the Book of Revelation, Scripture is filled with hundreds of references to these wondrous creatures.

 In this video we will know what the Bible says – and doesn’t say – about these majestic beings.

 And that’s deeply important because angels are still on mission today. 

They express God’s love, confirm His presence, and even lead humans in redemptive worship.

Don’t just believe in angels. Learn how to recognize these messengers of God that are all around us and know how God might be using them to affect our lives.

We’ve all heard stories of angels – winged beings watching over us, delivering messages from a higher power. But what if there’s more to it? 

What if these helpers aren’t always dramatic appearances, but subtle nudges, moments of unexpected kindness, or a feeling of being guided?

Imagine life as a journey. Sometimes the path is clear, other times it’s foggy. That’s where these helpers come in – they might not have wings and halos, but their presence can make a big difference. 

Here’s how to become more aware of them:

Pay Attention to Coincidences:

Have you ever gotten a hunch to call someone just as they were about to reach out? 

Or stumbled upon an answer you desperately needed right when you were looking? These might be gentle nudges from unseen forces. 

After all, the Bible tells us: “In his heart a man plans his course, but the Lord establishes his steps” (Proverbs 16:9). 

These seemingly random occurrences could be the universe, or a helpful presence within it, guiding you in the right direction.

Unexpected Kindness:

We all experience moments of random generosity. 

Maybe a stranger offers help when you’re struggling, or someone gives you that perfect word of encouragement just when you need it most. 

These acts of kindness can feel like a warm hand on your shoulder, a reminder that you’re not alone. 

The Bible reminds us: “Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have entertained angels without knowing it” (Hebrews 13:2). 

Perhaps these unexpected acts of kindness are a form of angelic intervention, a helper in human form offering a much-needed boost.

Dreams and Intuition:

Have you ever woken up with a strong feeling about something, or had a dream that seemed to offer guidance? 

These could be whispers from your inner wisdom, nudged along by a helpful presence. 

The Bible acknowledges the power of dreams in the story of Joseph, who interpreted dreams to save lives (Genesis 37-41). 

Don’t dismiss these inner whispers. As Proverbs 2:9 tells us, “For the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.” 

These nudges could be the way a helper is giving you a heads-up about something important.

Feeling a Shift:

Sometimes, you just know things are changing. 

You might feel a sudden wave of peace after a difficult time, or a surge of motivation to tackle a challenge. 

These shifts in energy can signal that a helper is at work. Imagine yourself feeling lost in a dark forest. 

Suddenly, a shaft of sunlight breaks through the trees, illuminating the path ahead. 

That’s the feeling of a helper bringing clarity and direction, much like when David found himself strengthened by the Lord before facing Goliath (1 Samuel 17:32).

Open Yourself Up:

The key to recognizing these helpers is being open to them. 

We often get so caught up in our daily routines that we miss the subtle signs. Slow down, be present in the moment, and trust your gut feeling. 

The Bible encourages us to be “like little children” (Matthew 18:3), open and receptive to the wonders around us. 

By quieting your mind and being open to possibilities, you’ll be better able to pick up on the helper’s signals.

Remember, these helpers come in all shapes and sizes. 

They could be people you know, strangers you meet, or simply a feeling of inner strength. 

By being mindful and open, you can learn to recognize their presence and use their guidance to navigate your life’s journey.

So, the next time you experience a lucky coincidence, an act of unexpected kindness, or a shift in your energy, take a moment to acknowledge it.

 It might just be a helper on your path, offering a gentle nudge in the right direction.

The concept of angels, celestial beings serving a divine purpose, has captivated humanity for millennia. 

In many faiths, particularly Christianity, angels are seen as intermediaries between God and humankind. 

How exactly might these ethereal figures be influencing our lives? While the Bible offers glimpses, the nature of angelic interaction remains a captivating mystery.

One prominent role of angels is as protectors and guides. 

Psalms 91:11-12 speaks of God sending angels to “watch over you in all your ways” and “keep you from harm.”  

This resonates with the story of Daniel, where the archangel Michael intervenes in a spiritual battle [Daniel 10:10-14].  

Perhaps angels subtly deflect danger, nudge us towards safer paths, or inspire a guardian-like presence during moments of vulnerability.

Angels are also portrayed as messengers, delivering divine pronouncements or pronouncements  important information.  

Throughout the Bible, angels appear to prophets and holy figures, relaying messages from God.  

In the New Testament, the angel Gabriel announces the births of John the Baptist and Jesus to Zechariah and Mary, respectively [Luke 1].  

Could angels be subtly planting thoughts, nudging us towards opportunities, or even appearing in dreams with cryptic messages we later interpret as intuition?

Another powerful role for angels is that of comfort and encouragement.  

In 1 Kings 19, the prophet Elijah, feeling defeated and alone, is visited by an angel who provides him with food and strength to continue his journey.  

Perhaps angels offer solace in times of grief, a surge of courage when facing challenges, or a silent reassurance of God’s presence even when we feel isolated.

The Bible also mentions angels as instruments of God’s judgment. 

While this aspect can be daunting, it’s important to remember God’s overarching love and justice. 

Perhaps these angelic actions involve removing us from harmful situations, prompting course corrections, or nudging us towards repentance.  

Ultimately, even judgment can be a form of divine guidance.

While the concept of angels influencing our lives is intriguing, the question arises: Does God or Jesus act directly in our lives, or do they primarily work through angels? 

The Bible offers examples of both.  In the Old Testament, God speaks directly to prophets like Moses and Elijah.  

In the New Testament, Jesus, as the Son of God, interacts directly with his disciples and performs miracles.

However, there are also instances where God’s presence is more subtle.  

Consider the still, small voice experienced by the prophet Elijah after the earthquake, wind, and fire [1 Kings 19:12]. 

 Perhaps God often speaks in ways that resonate with our inner voice or intuition, leaving us to discern the divine whispers.

Ultimately, the answer might be a combination of both direct and angelic intervention. 

God, in his infinite wisdom, may choose the most effective means to reach us – a dramatic angelic visitation, a gentle nudge through an angel’s influence, or a direct touch from the divine.

It’s important to remember that the Bible doesn’t provide a definitive answer on the exact nature and frequency of angelic interaction. 

 This allows for a spectrum of belief – some may find comfort in the idea of a personal guardian angel, while others may focus on a more generalized angelic influence.

The key takeaway is that faith in a higher power, whether directly interacting or working through intermediaries, can offer solace, guidance, and a sense of purpose.

Who is Jesus? He is a God? He really existed before?

That’s a question that’s been pondered for over 2,000 years. He’s a figure shrouded in mystery, a name that sparks intense emotions across the globe. But beyond the religious icon, beyond the stories whispered through time, there’s a man – a real, historical person who walked the earth.

Today, we’re peeling back the layers, separating fact from fiction, to uncover the truth about Jesus.

Psalm 91 is a powerful and beloved psalm, offering solace and a sense of security to those facing challenges. Often referred to as a psalm of protection, its verses resonate with imagery of finding refuge under the wings of God, the Almighty. This article explores how Psalm 91 can be incorporated into prayers for protection, used as a weapon in spiritual battles, and ultimately, as a source of strength in the face of suffering.

Finding Refuge: A Foundation for Protection

The psalm opens with a declaration of trust: “He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty” (Psalm 91:1). This initial verse establishes the core principle – finding safety and security in God’s presence. It’s an image of seeking refuge in a hidden place, a sanctuary where one can find respite from the storms of life.

This sense of refuge is further emphasized in verse 4: “He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and buckler.” The imagery of God’s feathers creates a picture of being enveloped in His loving protection. The shield and buckler represent the unwavering defense God provides against threats.

Praying for Deliverance from Harm

Psalm 91 goes beyond simply offering a feeling of safety. It progresses to pronouncements of deliverance from specific dangers. Verses 3-6 mention threats like “the fowler’s snare,” “the deadly pestilence,” “the terror of night,” and “the plague that destroys at midday.” These verses can be used as a framework for prayer, petitioning God for protection from various forms of harm, be it physical illness, accidents, or unforeseen circumstances.

For instance, one can pray, “Lord, as your word says in Psalm 91:3, deliver me from the snares of the enemy and protect me from all harm.” Similarly, verses 5 and 6 can be incorporated into prayers seeking deliverance from illness or accidents.

A Weapon in Spiritual Battles

Let’s set the scene. 

Jesus was born in Judea, a Roman province, around 4 BC. It was a time of great change – the Roman Empire ruled with an iron fist, yet Jewish culture and traditions thrived. 

Jesus wasn’t a king or a politician; he was most likely a carpenter, a working-class man familiar with the everyday struggles of his people.

Luckily, we have historical records that mention Jesus. 

Roman historians like Tacitus and Suetonius acknowledge his existence, even though their accounts are brief. 

But the most extensive source of information comes from the New Testament, a collection of early Christian writings.

Now, the New Testament is a religious text, so we have to be critical readers. But even with some bias, these writings offer valuable insights into Jesus’ life, teachings, and the impact he had on his followers. 

Here, the Gospel of Mark tells us of his occupation: “Isn’t this the carpenter, the son of Mary, and brother of James, Joseph, Judas, and Simon? His sisters live right here in this village!” (Mark 6:3)

Jesus wasn’t your average teacher. 

He didn’t lecture from a podium; he spoke in parables, using everyday stories to convey profound truths. 

He preached about love, forgiveness, compassion for the poor and marginalized. His message resonated with the people, offering hope and a sense of purpose in a world fraught with hardship.

Jesus challenged the religious authorities of his time, questioning their rigid interpretations of religious law. 

He emphasized a personal relationship with God, one built on love and good deeds, rather than strict adherence to rituals. 

In the Gospel of Matthew, we hear Jesus say: “You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you” (Matthew 5:43-44).

The Gospels depict Jesus performing miracles – healing the sick, raising the dead, calming storms. 

These miraculous events are a core part of the Christian faith, but how do we interpret them from a historical perspective?

Some believe these stories are symbolic, metaphors for Jesus’ power to heal and bring hope. 

Others consider them literal events, signs of Jesus’ divinity. 

Ultimately, whether you view them as miracles or powerful acts of compassion, they highlight Jesus’ impact on the people he encountered. 

The Gospel of John recounts Jesus healing a paralyzed man: 

“When Jesus saw him lying there and learned that he had been in that condition for a long time, he asked him, ‘Do you want to get well?’ ‘Sir,’ the invalid replied, ‘I have no one to help me down to the pool when the water is stirred. While I am trying to get in, someone else goes down before me.’ 

Then Jesus said to him, ‘Get up! Pick up your mat and walk.’ 

The man got up immediately, took up his mat and walked. That day was the Sabbath. (John 5:6-8)

These are just a few examples from the Gospels, but they paint a vivid picture of Jesus’ ministry and the profound effect he had on those around him.

Now, the Bible isn’t the only source that points to Jesus’ existence. 

Remember those Roman historians we mentioned earlier? Tacitus, writing around 116 AD, mentions the execution of Jesus by Pontius Pilate in his historical account, Annals. 

Similarly, Josephus, a first-century Jewish historian, refers to Jesus and his followers, the early Christians, in his work, Antiquities of the Jews.

These writings come from outside the Christian tradition, offering independent verification of Jesus’ existence within the Roman world. 

Additionally, archaeological discoveries continue to shed light on the world Jesus inhabited. 

Excavations in Judea have unearthed locations mentioned in the New Testament, like the Pool of Bethesda in Jerusalem, where Jesus healed the paralytic man we just heard about.

So, the evidence is clear: Jesus was a real person who walked the earth in Roman-occupied Judea. 

But his significance extends far beyond historical facts. His teachings on love, forgiveness, and compassion continue to inspire millions around the world. 

The religion founded on his life, Christianity, has shaped cultures, influenced laws, and offered solace and hope for centuries.

Whether you view Jesus as a historical figure, a religious leader, or the Son of God, his impact on humanity is undeniable. 

The question of faith is a personal journey, but understanding the historical context and the evidence surrounding Jesus’ life provides a deeper appreciation for this complex and influential figure.

The Word Made Flesh

The Bible tells a story that goes beyond human history. 

The Gospel of John opens with a profound statement: “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.” (John 1:1-3)

This “Word” is identified as Jesus. 

The passage suggests Jesus existed before creation itself, co-existing with God the Father. 

This concept, central to Christian theology, is known as the pre-existence of Christ. 

Jesus wasn’t simply a prophet or a teacher; he was the divine Word made flesh, God entering the human experience.

We can find hints of Jesus’ divinity even in the Old Testament, the Hebrew Bible that predates Jesus’ arrival. 

Many Christians see prophecies throughout the Old Testament that foreshadow the coming of the Messiah, a savior figure.

For example, Isaiah speaks of a suffering servant who will bear the sins of humanity:

 “But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed.” (Isaiah 53:5) 

This prophecy resonates with the Christian belief in Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross.

The Gospels depict Jesus making claims about his own divinity. 

He declares, “I and the Father are one” (John 10:30), a statement that outraged Jewish authorities who believed in one God. Jesus also forgives sins, an act traditionally reserved for God alone (Mark 2:5-7).

Beyond his words, Jesus exhibits characteristics associated with God. He has power over nature, calming storms and walking on water (Mark 4:35-41, Matthew 14:22-33). 

He possesses knowledge of the future (John 13:38). These abilities point to Jesus’ divine nature.

Now, the concept of Jesus being both fully God and fully human is a complex one.

Christians believe in the Trinity, a doctrine stating that God exists as three distinct persons: Father, Son (Jesus), and Holy Spirit. 

It’s a concept that has been debated by theologians for centuries, and attempting to fully grasp it can be challenging.

However, the core belief is that Jesus, while existing as a separate person from God the Father, shares the same divine essence. 

They are one God in three persons – a mystery that faith seeks to comprehend.

Whether you view Jesus as a historical figure, a prophet, or the Son of God is a personal choice. 

The historical evidence points to a real person who lived a remarkable life. But for billions of Christians worldwide, Jesus’ divinity is a core tenet of their faith.

His teachings offer hope, comfort, and a path to a meaningful life. His sacrifice on the cross, according to Christian belief, provides redemption from sin. 

The idea of a loving God who walked among us resonates deeply with many.

Throughout our exploration of Jesus, we’ve unraveled layers of history, theology, and faith. But there’s one more detail that holds significance – the very name Jesus.

Jesus’ name is a direct translation of the Hebrew name “Yeshua,” which itself is a shortened form of “Yehoshua.” 

This name might sound familiar – it’s the same name as Joshua, the biblical figure who led the Israelites into the Promised Land.

The meaning of “Yeshua” is rooted in the Hebrew verb “yasha,” which means “to rescue,” “to deliver,” or “to save.” 

So, inherent in Jesus’ very name is the message that lies at the heart of Christianity – salvation.

Whether you believe Jesus is a historical figure, a prophet, or the Son of God, his legacy endures. His teachings on love, compassion, forgiveness, and helping those in need continue to inspire millions across the globe.

 The concept of salvation through Jesus’ sacrifice offers hope and solace to many. His message of love and acceptance continues to be a powerful force in the world.

Jesus’ impact stretches far beyond the walls of a church.

But Jesus’ influence isn’t just about outward actions. For Christians, following Jesus is a way of life.

This doesn’t mean blind obedience to a set of rules. It’s about a continuous journey of growth, striving to live a life that reflects Jesus’ values. 

Christians find guidance in the Bible, prayer, and fellowship with other believers.

So, what does it mean to be a Christian in the 21st century? It’s about putting faith into action. 

Whether it’s volunteering at a local soup kitchen, offering a helping hand to a neighbor, or simply showing kindness to a stranger, Christians strive to embody Jesus’ message in their daily lives.

The world can be a complex place, filled with challenges and struggles. 

But Jesus’ teachings offer a guiding light, a call to love one another and work towards a more just and compassionate world.

The angel Gabriel is an angel of God who is mentioned by name three times in the Bible when he brought messages from God to Daniel, Zechariah, and Mary.

If you’ve heard the Christmas story, chances are you recognize Gabriel as the name of the angel who brought Mary the news that she would become pregnant and give birth to Jesus. 

And the angel answered him, “I am Gabriel. I stand in the presence of God, and I was sent to speak to you and to bring you this good news.” ~ Luke 1:19

Gabriel is active in other places in the Bible as well, bringing prophetic words from the Lord to God’s faithful.

The name Gabriel is of Hebrew origin and means “God Is My Strength”. 

This Christian name is still popular today, listed as #8 on the Baby Names popularity charts.

Gabriel Appears to Daniel

Gabriel is first mentioned by name in Daniel 8:16. 

At this time, Daniel (of the lion’s den fame) was living in Babylon where the Jews were in exile.

As the book of Daniel records, though Daniel had been taken into exile and the service of the Babylonian king, he stayed true to his faith and gained great favor, becoming a powerful man who was also loyal to God.

Daniel had many visions of the future. It was after one such vision that the angel Gabriel visited him.

Gabriel was called upon to explain the meaning of the vision to Daniel, illuminating what was to come.

Gabriel returned at least once more, in Daniel 9. 

He was sent in response to Daniel’s prayer and came to give him “insight and understanding” (Daniel 9:22).

 In this encounter, Gabriel pointed ahead to the “Anointed One,” a name for the Messiah, who would be Jesus.

Gabriel may have spoken to Daniel again, but it is unclear because the angel of Daniel 10 is not named.

Gabriel Appears to Zechariah

The book of Luke, one of the four Gospels, opens after a short introduction with the story of Zechariah, a priest. 

Luke records that Zechariah and his wife, Elizabeth, were “righteous in the sight of God” (Luke 1:6).

One day, as Zechariah went into the temple to burn incense before God, “an angel of the Lord appeared to him, standing at the right side of the altar of incense” (Luke 1:11). 

This angel was Gabriel. Gabriel gave Zechariah the news that his wife, Elizabeth, would bear a son. 

This seemed outlandish, as both were old and Elizabeth had been unable to have children, but Gabriel told Zechariah that he was to name the son John. 

Gabriel set out special directives for John and told Zechariah that John would bring back many to God and would prepare the way for the Lord — that “Lord” being Jesus, whose birth Gabriel would soon announce as well.

The baby, John, was none other than John the Baptist, and he would be the one to baptize Jesus at the beginning of Jesus’ ministry.

Gabriel Appears to Mary

Gabriel’s best-known role was the one in which he delivered the most important news: the coming of Jesus.

Instead of announcing the news to kings or priests, Gabriel was sent to a young virgin named Mary. 

The young woman had found favor with God and would be the mother of God’s Son. Gabriel told her:

You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David, and he will reign over Jacob’s descendants forever; his kingdom will never end (Luke 1:31-32).

After announcing Jesus’ name and identity, Gabriel explained to Mary that it would be a virgin birth caused by the Holy Spirit. 

“I am the Lord’s servant,” Mary answered. “May your word to me be fulfilled” (Luke 1:38).

After this, Gabriel left. He does not appear in the Bible again, at least by name.

Gabriel’s Heavenly Role

But who is Gabriel? Each time Gabriel appears in the Bible, it is in the role of a messenger.

 However, this should not give the impression that he is a cute little messenger boy.

When Gabriel appeared to Daniel, Zechariah, and Mary, all three were stricken with him. 

Daniel says, “As he came near the place where I was standing, I was terrified and fell prostrate” (Daniel 8:17). 

Zechariah “was startled and was gripped with fear” (Luke 1:12). 

And Mary “was greatly troubled at his words and wondered what kind of greeting this might be” (Luke 1:29). 

He had to reassure each of them before continuing with his messages, raising Daniel back to his feet and telling Zechariah and Mary, “Do not be afraid” (Luke 1:13, 30).

Gabriel indicated a favored position when he stated that he is an angel who “stand[s] in the presence of God” (Luke 1:19).

Thus, Gabriel is a good and holy angel of God who stands in God’s presence, and he was chosen by God to deliver important messages to at least three of God’s faithful, including the birth and name of God’s Son.

Is Gabriel an Archangel?

Though sometimes referred to as “the archangel Gabriel,” the Bible never gives him this title.

Gabriel is one of only two named good angels in the Protestant Bible, the other one being Michael. 

Michael is called an archangel (Jude 9), but Gabriel is not mentioned as such. 

This idea comes from a work written between the Old and New Testaments, the book of Enoch, which calls both Michael and Gabriel archangels. 

Whether the book of Enoch is to be taken as correct or not, the Bible itself never calls Gabriel an archangel. 

Gabriel often delivers messages, as we see in the examples above. 

He brings the good news to Mary about how she will give birth to the Savior of the world. 

He speaks to Daniel, showing him visions of the future. Apart from his messenger role, we don’t know much about this angel from the information presented in the biblical text. 

Although we can look to extrabiblical sources such as the book of Enoch for entertainment, we do have to exercise discernment, especially when it comes to spiritual matters.

What Can We Learn from Gabriel?

Gabriel reminds us that God listens and cares for His people. 

Gabriel brought the greatest news of God’s love: the coming of Jesus. 

Though Gabriel may remain a being shrouded in mystery, his message is what matters most.

This makes sense. 

Whenever people see angels in the Bible, they often bow out of reverence. 

The angels rebuke them and tell them to worship God alone. Angels are worshipful beings. 

Perhaps they want to be shrouded more in mystery because they want the glory to go to God alone. 

No matter what the case, we can know that angels are real from very real examples from Scripture. 

We know that angels operate in both the Old and New Testament, as we see in the examples above. 

He appears to Mary, Daniel, and Zechariah, at times bearing good news, and at time, bearing disturbing news.

And we know angels still operate today, as spiritual warfare wages around us.

We all carry burdens. Disappointments, losses, and anxieties can weigh heavily on our hearts, leaving us feeling adrift in a sea of despair.

As Christians, this internal struggle can be particularly confusing. We believe in a loving God, yet the challenges of life threaten to extinguish the flame of hope within us. But the beauty of faith lies in its unwavering promise: even in the darkest of nights, the light of Christ shines ever bright, offering solace and strength.

The Bible overflows with verses reminding us that hope is not a fleeting emotion, but a cornerstone of our faith.

Romans 15:13 beautifully captures this essence: “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.” Here, we see hope intertwined with joy, peace, and the Holy Spirit – a powerful combination that equips us to weather any storm.

Life’s difficulties are inevitable. The psalmist David, a man who knew hardship intimately, penned these words in Psalm 23:4: “Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.”

This verse offers a profound image: even in the deepest valley, surrounded by darkness, God walks beside us. His presence, symbolized by the rod and staff, provides comfort and guidance, reminding us that we are not alone.

Jesus himself understood the weight of earthly burdens. He walked among us, experiencing human emotions like sorrow, anger, and fatigue.

In Matthew 11:28-30, he extends a loving invitation: “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Here, Jesus offers not just comfort, but a path forward. He invites us to share our burdens with him, promising a sense of ease and lightness that surpasses human understanding.

Finding solace in Christ doesn’t mean ignoring our problems. It’s about acknowledging them while holding onto the unwavering hope that God provides.

Philippians 4:6-7 instructs us: “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

This verse emphasizes the power of prayer. By entrusting our worries to God, we experience a peace that surpasses human comprehension. It’s a peace that anchors us even when the waves of life threaten to pull us under.

The Christian community also plays a crucial role in fostering hope. We are called to be a beacon of support for one another, just as Jesus created a community of disciples.

Hebrews 10:25 reminds us: “Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another – and all the more as you see the Day approaching.”

Surrounding ourselves with fellow believers, sharing our struggles, and offering encouragement strengthens our faith and reminds us that we are part of something bigger than ourselves.

Hope is not a passive state of waiting for things to improve. It’s an active force that propels us forward. As we cultivate hope in Christ, we are empowered to face challenges head-on.

We find the strength to persevere, the courage to make difficult decisions, and the resilience to bounce back from setbacks. Romans 5:3-4 beautifully encapsulates this transformation: “We also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope.”

Through trials, our faith is refined, and our hope becomes even more deeply rooted in Christ.

Remember, God’s love for us is unconditional. It doesn’t diminish during times of hardship.

Isaiah 43:2 beautifully expresses this unwavering love: “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.”

No matter the intensity of the storm, God’s love remains a constant source of strength and comfort.

Finding hope in Christ is a lifelong journey. There will be days when doubt creeps in, and the burdens feel overwhelming. But by turning to scripture, seeking solace in prayer, and connecting with the Christian community, we can rekindle the flame of hope within us.

Remember, even the faintest flicker can illuminate the darkest of nights, guiding us towards the unwavering light of Christ.

Life can be a beautiful journey, filled with sunshine and laughter. But let’s face it, there are times when the waves crash in, threatening to pull us under.

But friend, in the midst of these storms, there’s an anchor that holds firm – your faith in Jesus Christ. The Bible is filled with stories of God’s people facing incredible hardship, yet finding strength and hope in Him. Today, let’s explore how we can draw inspiration from Jesus and navigate life’s challenges with faith as our compass.

Remember the story in Mark 4:35-41, where Jesus and his disciples were caught in a fierce storm on the Sea of Galilee? The disciples were terrified, their boat tossed about by the waves. But Jesus, in perfect calm, rebuked the wind and the sea, saying, “Peace, be still!” And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.

Just like Jesus calmed the storm for the disciples, He can calm the storms within us. He understands our pain, our fear, and our doubt. Hebrews 4:15 assures us, “For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who has been tempted in all things as we are, yet without sin.” Jesus himself walked through suffering, and He offers us the strength to do the same.

Here are some ways to find solace in Jesus when life throws its punches:

• Turn to Prayer: Pour out your heart to God. Share your burdens, your fears, and your deepest desires. Prayer is a powerful tool for communication and receiving God’s peace (Philippians 4:6-7).
• Seek Scripture’s Guidance: The Bible is filled with words of comfort and encouragement. Seek verses that speak to your specific situation, and let them wash over you like a soothing balm. (Psalm 91:4)
• Connect with Fellow Believers: Find strength in community. Surround yourself with other Christians who can offer support, prayers, and a listening ear. (Hebrews 10:25)
• Serve Others: Helping others can take your focus off your own problems and remind you of the blessings you still have. Look for opportunities to serve in your church or community. (Matthew 25:40)

Remember, you are not alone in this storm. Jesus is with you, offering His unwavering love and strength. Trust in Him, draw close to Him, and allow Him to guide you through the darkness.

Just as the sun breaks through the clouds after a storm, brighter days are ahead. Hold on to your faith in Jesus, and know that He will see you through.

So, that mysterious energy coiled at the base of your spine? 

That’s Kundalini, according to this ancient yoga practice. It’s believed to be a powerful dormant force that, when awakened, can unlock spiritual growth and even a connection with the divine.

Kundalini yoga involves a unique blend of physical postures, breathing exercises, chanting, and meditation. 

Practitioners believe it can lead to a heightened sense of awareness, a feeling of energy rising up the spine, and even profound spiritual experiences.

But here’s where things get interesting. This focus on awakening Kundalini energy has some Christians worried. 

They wonder if it might be more than just a spiritual awakening – could it be a doorway to something darker? 

The concept of Kundalini awakening and its potential connection to Christianity is a topic that sparks debate among believers. 

While Kundalini yoga, with its focus on chakras and energy awakening, has become increasingly popular, some Christian denominations view it with suspicion. 

Here’s a glimpse into how different Christian groups approach this practice:

Evangelical and Pentecostal Churches: 

These denominations often express strong reservations about Kundalini yoga. They believe the focus on manipulating energy within the body and the potential for unusual spiritual experiences could be a gateway to demonic influence. 

Some even suggest that the awakened Kundalini could be mistaken for the Holy Spirit, leading followers down a dangerous path.

Mainline Protestant Churches: 

Mainline denominations like Methodists or Presbyterians tend to be more open to Eastern spiritual practices. 

While they might not actively promote Kundalini yoga, they might view it as a form of exercise or meditation with potential benefits for relaxation and stress reduction. 

However, they would likely emphasize the importance of grounding such practices in Christian scripture and prayer.

Catholic Church: 

The Catholic Church generally doesn’t endorse Kundalini yoga, but its stance is less rigid compared to some Evangelical groups. 

The emphasis on physical postures and breathing exercises might be seen as acceptable, but the focus on Kundalini energy itself could be viewed with caution. 

Catholics are encouraged to seek spiritual growth through established practices like prayer, sacraments, and scripture study.

Charismatic Movement: 

Interestingly, some Charismatic Christians, known for emphasizing the Holy Spirit’s gifts like prophecy and healing, might find parallels between Kundalini awakening and spiritual experiences. 

However, they would likely emphasize the importance of aligning such experiences with biblical principles and discerning whether they come from God or another source.

The concept of a “Kundalini spirit” arises from the intersection of Kundalini yoga and some Christian beliefs. 

While Kundalini itself refers to a dormant energy within the body according to yogic traditions, some Christians interpret its awakening as a spiritual experience, not always positive. 

Proponents of the Kundalini spirit theory believe it can manifest through intense physical sensations like shaking, heat radiating from the body, or involuntary movements. 

Emotionally, it might trigger feelings of euphoria, bliss, or even fear and anxiety. These experiences can be overwhelming and challenging to control.

Some believe the Kundalini spirit can lead to vivid visions, prophetic utterances, or a sense of encountering a powerful spiritual force. 

These experiences can be positive or negative, depending on the interpretation. However, discernment becomes crucial, as some Christians worry these encounters might not originate from God.

The emphasis on manipulating energy through postures, breathing exercises, and chanting in Kundalini yoga is viewed by some Christians as a departure from traditional Christian practices like prayer and scripture study. 

They might see this focus on energy manipulation as a sign of the Kundalini spirit’s influence.

A core concern among some Christians is the possibility of the Kundalini spirit being a demonic entity. 

They believe the intense physical and emotional experiences, coupled with potential for unusual spiritual encounters, could be a form of demonic deception. 

This view emphasizes the importance of spiritual discernment and staying grounded in scripture.

Another interpretation suggests that the Kundalini awakening might be misinterpreted as a spiritual experience. 

Proponents of this view believe the intense emotions and sensations could be a natural physiological response to the practices involved in Kundalini yoga. 

They emphasize the importance of proper guidance and avoiding misinterpreting these experiences as a spiritual encounter.

A less common view suggests the Kundalini spirit is simply a neutral energy force within the body. 

Whether its awakening leads to positive or negative experiences depends on the individual’s spiritual state and intentions. 

This perspective focuses on the importance of approaching Kundalini yoga with caution and maintaining a strong foundation in one’s faith.

So, how do we tell the difference between the Holy Spirit and an unclean spirit? 

Jesus’ teaching helps us in this area. He gives this advice in Mark 9:38-41 when his disciples bring a concern to him:

John said to him, ‘Teacher, we saw someone casting out demons in your name, and we tried to stop him, because he was not following us.’  But Jesus said, ‘Do not stop him, for no one who does a mighty work in my name will be able soon afterward to speak evil of me. For the one who is not against us is for us. For truly, I say to you, whoever gives you a cup of water to drink because you belong to Christ will never lose his reward.’”

Christians don’t need to worry about a Kundalini spirit if they aren’t actively pursuing a Kundalini awakening. 

Given how little Westernized yoga has to do with Eastern religions, there is little reason to worry that practicing yoga will awaken unclean spirits—unless it involves praying and inviting spiritual forces. 

We do need to consider whether we are seeking spiritual experiences in the wrong places—whether that’s through Eastern meditation or some New Age activity that seems harmless.

Christians should know what authentic spiritual gifts look like. 

To do this, we would all benefit from studying 1 Corinthians 14. 

Paul mentions that both mind and Spirit should be active, yet many who are experiencing these charismatic utterances do not know what they are saying. 

Paul’s instruction to pray with the mind simultaneously as they pray with the tongue helps diagnose the case of the Kundalini.

Spiritual warfare is real and should not be taken lightly, but God is the ultimate victor and able to overcome everything.

 If our worship does not consist of emptying our minds but rather of filling our minds with God and his Word, we will be okay.

However, if we empty our minds through Eastern meditation, we will be worse off than before.

Matthew 12:43-45 helps us see the importance of filling rather than emptying our minds. 

There are numerous parallels between the Kundalini and this passage. 

The Kundalini awakening involves seven openings, requiring a spiritual emptiness that Eastern meditation seeks. 

Each of the seven chakras with more compulsive and negative aspects could represent increasingly evil spirits. 

What is perceived as the seven chakras awakening is the increasingly evil demons filling up the person’s spiritual house. 

spiritual emptiness invites increasingly evil spirits in. Therefore, we need to fill our minds with God and his Word.

Another helpful way to diagnose whether a spirit is holy or unclean is to look at the fruit of the ministry and where it came from. 

Unclean spirits want us to remove our individuality and become one with god-consciousness. The Holy Spirit desires our cooperation (Philippians 2:13).

If we want to “supplement” faith with greater spiritual experiences, we must remember that 2 Peter 1:5-9 already shows us what to seek. 

The qualities Peter lists in 2 Peter 1 are all focused on our walk with God and our whole being, not just our emotions. 

Each of these qualities is focused externally—on how we react to the world around us. 

We do this by filling ourselves with God and increasing our awareness of His Spirit through the Word, not by pursuing some inner super-spiritual awakening. 

Love is a full-sense action.

It’s also important to remember that if we’ve strayed into unhealthy spiritual practices, we’re not doomed. 

God has forgiven us and is greater than any demon or false Spirit we can pursue. 

We can turn back and make Him the only focus of our worship.

What then?

Have you ever felt a sudden unexplainable warmth?

 Heard a comforting melody out of thin air? 

Or perhaps witnessed a fleeting shimmer of light? 

These experiences, while seemingly random, could be whispers from the divine – signs that angels are present in your home. 

Throughout history, the existence of angels has captivated humanity.

 From the celestial beings guarding the gates of Eden (Genesis 3:24) to the powerful archangels like Michael and Gabriel (Daniel 12:7), the Bible paints a vivid picture of these heavenly messengers. 

But are angels mere characters in a sacred text, or can their presence be felt in our everyday lives?

For Christians, angels are more than just ethereal figures. 

They are real, powerful beings entrusted by God to watch over us, guide us, and protect us. The Bible is filled with accounts of angelic intervention.

In Psalm 91:11, we find the promise, “For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways.” 

Similarly, Hebrews 1:14 declares, “Are not all angels ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation?” Angels are not meant to be worshipped; they are God’s instruments, working tirelessly to fulfill His will.

So, how do we recognize their presence? 

While angelic appearances in human form are rare, there are subtle signs that angels might be watching over your home and offering guidance. 

Here are some ways to tune into the celestial energy surrounding you:

Unexplained Feelings of Peace and Comfort: 

Have you ever entered a room and felt an immediate sense of calm, even if the situation beforehand was stressful? This could be an angel’s presence bringing tranquility to your space.

Sudden Warmth or Chills: 

A shift in temperature with no logical explanation can be a sign of an angel’s presence. A feeling of warmth can signify comfort and protection, while chills might indicate a powerful angelic being nearby.

Lights and Flickering: 

Have you noticed unusual flashes of light or electronics malfunctioning briefly? While it’s important to rule out technical issues first, some believe these flickering lights could be angelic communication.

Meaningful Dreams and Visions:

 Vivid dreams with symbolic messages or a sense of encountering a divine being in a vision could be angelic guidance. Pay close attention to the emotions and imagery in your dreams, as they might hold hidden messages.

Songs and Melodies: 

Hearing beautiful music out of thin air, especially during times of prayer or meditation, could be an angelic message of comfort or a gentle nudge in the right direction.

Feathers: 

Finding white feathers in unexpected places is a common sign associated with angels. While it doesn’t guarantee an angel’s presence, feathers can be a symbol of hope, peace, and reassurance from the divine.

Intuition and Inner Knowing: 

Sometimes, the most powerful sign is a deep sense within you that you’re not alone. A sudden feeling of knowingness or a nudge towards a specific course of action could be angelic guidance.

It’s important to remember that these signs are open to interpretation. 

They can be subjective experiences, and not every unusual occurrence signifies the presence of an angel. 

However, if you find yourself repeatedly experiencing these phenomena, it might be a call to pay closer attention to your intuition and what these signs might be trying to tell you.

The Bible offers a clear standard when encountering angels.

 In Judges 6, Gideon encounters the angel Gabriel. Initially afraid, Gideon asks, “Pardon me, my lord, but if the Lord is with us, why has all this happened to us?” (Judges 6:13). The angel’s response is instructive:

“Peace be with you! Do not be afraid. You are not going to die” (Judges 6:23). Angels come not to terrify, but to offer comfort, guidance, and protection. If you experience a sign, approach it with an open heart and a sense of peace, remembering God’s love and the presence of His angels.

Why Angels Deserve Reverence, Not Worship?

While the presence of angels can be a source of comfort and guidance, it’s crucial to remember their place within the Christian faith.

 They are powerful beings, yes, but they are not objects of worship. 

The Bible is clear that all worship and adoration belong solely to God. Here’s why Christians should focus their devotion on the divine:

The Bible establishes God as the ultimate authority and the source of all creation. 

Colossians 1:16 proclaims, “For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him.” 

Angels, while powerful, are part of God’s creation. Worshipping them diminishes the glory that belongs solely to the Creator.

Monotheism, the belief in one God, is a cornerstone of Christianity.

 The first commandment in Exodus 20:3 states, “You shall have no other gods before me.” This is a clear directive that prohibits worshipping any being besides God. 

Angels, as magnificent as they may be, don’t hold the same power and authority as the one true God.

 The Bible presents instances where angels explicitly refuse worship. In the book of Revelation, John the Apostle falls down to worship an angel, but the angel rebukes him, saying, “You must not do that! I am a fellow servant with you and your brothers the prophets, and with those who keep the words of this book. Worship God!” (Revelation 19:10). 

This encounter highlights the proper order – worship flows upwards to God, not to his celestial messengers.

The core of Christianity lies in understanding God’s grace and love for humanity. 

By worshipping angels, we shift our focus away from the very source of salvation – God’s sacrifice through Jesus Christ. 

Angels act as instruments of God’s will, but they are not the source of redemption.

This doesn’t mean Christians can’t hold angels in high regard. The Bible describes them as awe-inspiring beings worthy of respect. 

We can appreciate their role as God’s messengers and guardians. However, this respect should never morph into worship.

Strengthening Your Relationship with God

Here are some ways to deepen your connection with God and ensure your focus remains on Him:

Regular communication with God through prayer is vital. Express gratitude, confess your shortcomings, and seek guidance.

The Bible is God’s word, offering insights into His character and will. Spend time studying scripture to understand Him better.

Strive to emulate Jesus’ teachings – love, forgiveness, and compassion. Walking in His footsteps is a way to honor God.

Participating in Christian worship services and fostering fellowship with other believers strengthens your faith and connection to God.

The concept of angels, celestial beings watching over us, offers a comforting presence. 

As Christians, it’s crucial to remember that angels, while awe-inspiring, are not the ultimate source of comfort and guidance. 

That role belongs solely to God – our merciful Father, leader, and protector.

God’s Unwavering Mercy

The Bible repeatedly emphasizes God’s boundless mercy. In Psalm 103:8, we find a beautiful description: “The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.” His mercy doesn’t depend on our actions; it’s a gift offered freely. When we stumble and fall, God’s mercy provides forgiveness and a chance to start anew.

Throughout scripture, God is portrayed as a loving father. Jesus himself often referred to God as “Father,” highlighting a close, personal relationship available to all believers. 

Malachi 2:10 declares, “Have we not all one Father? Has not one God created us?” God doesn’t judge us harshly like a distant ruler; He offers the unconditional love and support of a father.

Life can be a complex journey with its share of challenges. But Christians are not alone; God is our leader. 

32:8 assures us, “I will instruct you and teach you the way you should go; I will counsel you with my eye upon you.” 

Through prayer, scripture, and the guidance of the Holy Spirit, God helps us navigate life’s uncertainties and make choices that align with His will.

Facing difficulties can be daunting, but God’s protective hand shelters us. 

91:4 states, “He will cover you with his pinions, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness is a shield and buckler.” God doesn’t shield us from all hardships, but He grants us the strength and resilience to face them with courage and faith.

Understanding God’s multifaceted nature – merciful Father, guiding leader, and ever-present protector – compels us to draw closer to Him.

By nurturing your relationship with God, you’ll discover a wellspring of love, guidance, and protection that surpasses any earthly comfort. 

Angels may offer a glimpse of the divine, but it’s in God’s presence that we find true fulfillment and the unwavering love that shapes our lives.

Ultimately, the most important takeaway is this: You are not alone. Angels, God’s celestial messengers, are constantly surrounding us, offering comfort, guidance, and protection. 

By being open to the subtle signs around you and trusting your intuition, you can deepen your connection with the divine and experience the joy of angelic presence in your life.
